Let food be thy medicine

Sammuel johnson writes, who does not mind his belly will hardly mind any thing else. It is one of the prime requirements of life. Today in world, only 40% people are fortunate, those who are having ability to have food all the require time rest are struggling for the food. Being such opportunist, we are not having time to eat. We are taking food in hurry, in running and in very odd mental state. We solve our all the problem at dining table. Long before, Hypocrites understood, “We are what we eat”.

To day, people are becoming mad about there fatness and other health issue. I am an natural health practicener and experienced ,most of them are suffering due to their improper way of taking food. They are not taking food in time. They are not chewing food properly. That is reason today sickness is increasing badly.
We know, all the eatables having same constituents (Carbohydrates, Protin, minerals, water, Vitamis and fat) only proportion varies. There fore, most important thing is how we are eating. As per Yog Kundalini Upnishad, “The act of eating is dedicated to GOD.”

Our diet is an essential factor for the formation of our body. It is clearly mentioned in an Ayurvedic classic 'Charak Samhita' that consuming improper diet in improper way is the main cause of 'Disease'.According to 'Charak Samhita -"An appropriate and suitable diet in a disease is equivalent to hundred drugs and any quantity of drug hardly compares to good results in disease without following proper dietetic regimen" Diet should be regulated taking into account the place time and season. On should be in a habit of taking all six tastes in order to prevent nutritional deficiency disorders. A person should take meal only when he feels hungry. Break fast should be taken morning before 0830. Lunch should be taken early between 12 and 1P.M. this coincides with biological clock of the body. Breakfast should be the largest meal of the day. The supper should be lesser and lighter than lunch and that should be two hrs before of sleep. A healthy breakfast also helps to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Research suggests that breakfast eaters are leaner than those who skip the morning meal, with one study reporting that missing breakfast was associated with a fourfold increase in the risk of obesity.
As per Hata Yoga Pradipika Verse 1:60 , In moderate feeding half of the capacity of stomach should be filled with solids, ¼ th with liquids and rest kept empty for the free movements of body humors to add digestion.
Sequence of food is also playing the vital role in digestion. Sweet food like fruits are advisable to take in the beginning of meal, food with sour and salty in the middle and bitter, astringent and pungent foods should be taken at the end of meal.
Method of consuming food plays vital role to maintain optimum level of health. Wash the face hands and feet before meal. Dine in an isolated neat and clean place in pleasant environment with the affectionate persons in sitting position with concentration. Never chit chat and watch television while eating. Food should be taken after complete digestion of previous one.
Hard items should be consumed in the beginning followed by soft and liquids subsequently. Consumption of excessive hot food leads to weakness. Cold and dry food leads to delayed digestion. Intake of food prepared by giving extra heat leads to weakness. Hence consumption of such food should be avoided. After food, up to 30 minutes avoid sex, running, water intake, singing, reading and exercise. Lastly we can say, “If we eat wrongly, no doctor can cur us and if we eat rightly then no doctor is needed
